The Challenge

Flourish Research had a full pipeline — and no idea what to do with it. No KPIs. No dashboards. No standardized way to track the Backlog that kept the business alive. The team designed and deployed a suite of Power BI dashboards that gave leadership daily, weekly, and monthly visibility into performance metrics for the first time.

Turning the Backlog into a Blueprint

Alongside these dashboards, Bridgelight developed an Operations Playbook that translated the Backlog into a concrete operational run rate, making it clear exactly what throughput was required to realize forecasted revenue, and where capacity opportunities existed to get there.

A Model Built to Flex

At the heart of the engagement was a dynamic Backlog and Backlog Achievement model. Unlike static forecasting tools, this model was built to flex. It accommodated study-specific protocols, adapted to sponsor changes in real time, and surfaced actionable insight on where forecast risk and opportunity lived.

Getting Everyone in Sync

Bridgelight also implemented a Forecast Achievement Process: a cross-functional alignment mechanism that brought Operations and Business Development into sync, ensuring that capacity utilization and business development efforts were pulling in the same direction.

Results

The results were measurable and lasting. Forecast realization improved, revenue growth accelerated, and the organization finally had the operational clarity to make confident decisions. In 2024, Flourish Research was acquired — at a valuation that stood as an industry high. Bridgelight's Business Intelligence platform was cited by the transaction team as a significant differentiator and value driver in the deal. The investment bankers put it plainly: "Nobody else in the industry has anything like it." What started as filling a visibility gap had become a competitive moat.
